It’s night in Newark

The local time is 02:21 AM and I’m sitting in front of my brand new Mac Book Pro in a Holiday Inn hotel room in Newark, New Jersey, looking out over railway tracks, highways and the big cranes in the harbor. This is (hopefully) the last day of me and my sister’s three week trip to the US of A.
Don’t get me wrong – we’ve had a blast over here. We have been to New York, Miami, Key West, Disney World in Orlando, checked out the casinos in Las Vegas and been driving through the Mojave desert down to the hills of Los Angeles and Hollywood.
With the weak dollar and all, we’ve been living like king and queen. I bought my new laptop here for two thirds of the price back home. We’ve stayed at more or less fancy hotels all the time, eaten out and bought tons of clothes (and a big new bag to get everything home).
But right now we just want to get home. On our way home to Sweden from Las Vegas, we had to take a connecting flight here in Newark, but midair we got information that all airports around New York were closed due to bad weather and we had to land in Baltimore instead. From there they put in busses to Newark, but of course our connecting flight to Stockholm had already left when we finally got here (and there are no more flights until tomorrow with our airline).
So the first night in Newark we spent at the airport (which totally messed up my sense of time). This night we managed to get a hotel, but now I can’t sleep. So here I sit. In a few hours though, we’ll be off to Europe. Sweet!

The fact that Liberty City, the city in which GTA 4 is set, is heavily based on New York City, makes me a bit nervous about my upcoming vacation trip to – you guessed it – New York City.
